Participate in Marches!
When marching, you are showing what you believe in and are showing how important it is to you. While marching is very important it is equally as important to stay safe. Read my article on how to stay safe during marches/protests!
Write a Letter or Postcard to Electeds
Elected officials can make and vote for laws that protect us, and writing letters, postcards or emails to them lets them know what you care about and what you want changed. You can write to elected officials on an congressional or local level, depending on where your issue is based. For example, if you want to write about a stoplight you would like to be added, writing to a local elected official is more appropriate. If you are concerned about an issue that impacts our whole country or a law on a national level, you can write to your senator or congressperson. Here is a sample letter you can use if you get stuck.
