Hi!
My name is Louisa, and I'm a Senior in high school and an Ambassador Girl Scout
For my Gold Award, I based my project around helping kids volunteer. I observed that many young kids were grappling with anxiety and helplessness, stemming from their heightened awareness of current events and community issues. In my experience, taking action has always helped me to process scary or confusing world events, but unfortunately, kids under 16 years old often cannot volunteer at non-profits because of insurance reasons.

I have been volunteering since I was little, and it was hard for my parents to find places where we could volunteer. I created this website to combat this hurdle and show the many ways you can help your community, with or without working with official organizations. I believe that volunteering is very important and everyone should get involved, especially when you are young, so I hope this website can help you in your volunteering journey!
What's The Gold Award?
The Gold Award is the highest award you can earn as a Girl Scout and consists of a project lasting 80+ hours. Your project not only has to be sustainable, but has to have a lasting impact on your community.
